Terms/Conditions and Code of Conduct for FurcoNZ participants

Common Sense

That's it, really, everyone should be have some good old fashioned common sense when it comes to how one should behave themselves. However, these days it is much better if things are clearly explained and written out so there are no confusions.

FurcoNZ aims to give all its participants a safe and fun environment to enjoy themselves throughout the event. Due to the laws and regulations with some of the activities and events involved and the liabilities to the organizers, you must be 18 years of age or older before FurcoNZ commences in order to register. If you are going to be underage (17 years or younger) a consent form must be completed and signed with your parents or legal guardian in order to attend.

We reserve the right to perform an ID check on any participants during FurcoNZ. Valid forms of photo ID include: passport, driver's license and 18+ card.

Safety and security is of utmost concern for everyone, and are handled primarily by FurcoNZ staff. FurcoNZ is held in a private location and it is a private event, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if it is deemed an appropriate action against any potential trouble makers or if you are breaking any rules as listed below. We also reserve the right to contact the appropriate local authorities (NZ Police) if the issue cannot resolved by FurcoNZ staff.

Harassment and Assault

"No" and "Stop" means exactly that, No and Stop. Harassment of any kind is not tolerated by FurcoNZ, such as:
Behaviour that intentionally annoys, alarm or harm another person, be it physical or verbal.
Unwanted physical contact, or any inappropriate advances/behaviours against someone else that is uninvited.
Contact a FurcoNZ staff member immediately if you should feel harassed or threatened. We have ZERO TOLERANCE toward such behaviours and we reserve the right to evict any offenders immediately.

Alcohol and Smoking

FurcoNZ and the lodge/site allows the consumption of alcohol, and promotes responsible drinking. However by law we are not allowed to sell any alcohol during the event.
Please observe any no smoking signs, that generally means no smoking in any indoors area. Please use your common sense when smoking in the designated areas. Make sure the cigarette/cigar is fully extinguished and disposed of properly.

Weapons and Illegal Substances

We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy towards any illegal activities/substance classed and listed under New Zealand law. Any offenders will be asked to leave the lodge/site immediately and we reserve the right to contact the appropriate authorities.
Weapons are not allowed to FurcoNZ, this includes any blades/daggers/swords etc. (anything with a sharp edge and have the potential to cause major harm), firearms of any sort and anything that is classified as needing a license to carry/own under New Zealand law. If you are caught with any of the above, the weapon/offending item will be confiscated and stored away in a secure location and won't be returned until the end of the event. We reserve the right to contact the appropriate authorities and further actions might be taken.

Photography and Videos

FurcoNZ would like all our participants to enjoy their time and have a record of their memories during the event. Photography and video footage by participants are generally allowed, however, please show common sense and courtesy to others and ask for their permissions prior.
If someone feels uncomfortable to be filmed please respect their wishes (refer to "Harassment and Assault" section above).

Participants should be aware that footage (photos and/or videos) gathered by FurcoNZ staff members may be used later on in official photo/video releases (such as on the official website or a video DVD/BD release). If you do not wish to appear on them, please contact us.

Media/Press Policy

Our policy is simple: we do not allow any media/press presence during FurcoNZ, be it from the local newspaper, website/blog, television media. If you were found to be from the media/press and the purpose of your attendance is to gather materials/story to be published, you will be asked to leave the lodge/site immediately and we reserve the right to follow up with any further (legal) actions. Please respect the privacy of all our participants.
